This week Monday, the students brought home name writing homework in their folders. There are eight lines to write the name. I was thinking it would work for them to practice two times per day for four days and then bring it back on Friday for a sticker and some praise for a job well done. When you are practicing writing names, it is good to know that they can write their name in all capital letters like this HEATHER, but as they get better at it, they should transition to one capital letter at the beginning and the rest small letters like this Heather. This is the preferred way for them to write their name in kindergarten. Thanks for your help with this fun homework assignment.
During animal alphabet this week we are doing letters Ww, Xx, Yy, and Zz. The animals are walrus, x-ray fish, yak, and zebra. On Friday, we will be back to letter Aa and doing some other fun things like finishing our math book from before the animal alphabet. We will also be watching Captain Seasalt and the ABC Pirates. There is a short, word-filled fun video for each letter. The kids really like it.
The kids have been doing a great job playing together during playtime. They are taking turns and sharing nicely. We just need to remember to be a little quieter inside.
