4K Newsletter for April 24-28, 2023

 Hello 4K Families,

We have started our sixth time through the alphabet. This week we are on letters Ff, Gg, Hh, Ii, and Jj. We will be able to finish before the year is up. Starting in May, there will be a school-wide abc countdown so we will have lots of letter stuff at the end of the year. Hopefully we will be able to have an alphabet party. Please help your child practice the letters at home if they don't yet know them. If we practice at home and school, we will have a better chance to meet our goal.

In math, we are doing a kindergarten book this time. We have been measuring inches using rulers and today we talked about the weight of objects and put them in order from lightest to heaviest. The heaviest thing was a bookcase!

If your child has a summer birthday and you would like them to be able to get a birthday crown and be the birthday kid for the day, please let me know which day you would like to do that and I will get their crown made. We don't want the summer birthday kids to miss the fun.

We have been reading lots of good books lately.  Today we read a story about a little boy who wanted to jump off the high diving board but he was a little nervous and scared, but he decided to try and he did a great job. After the story, we talked about times we were scared and everyone got a turn to share. They did a great job sharing and listening to each other.

Next week, I will send home the May homework. Don't forget to let me know if you have any questions.

Miss Gilding
