4K Newsletter for April 3-7

Hello 4K Families!

Welcome back after Spring Break. We are having a great start to this short week before the Easter Holiday.  Remember there is no school on Friday, and there is teacher inservice on Monday so there will be no school for students Monday. I will miss them while I am in meetings.

Math contest update - 4K did such an amazing job blowing away the competition so much that they changed the rules at the end. Oh well, everyone wins I guess. We can still be proud that we did so much great work and surprised the school with our unmatchable effort. Hopefully they learned not to underestimate what 4K can do!

There are a couple of grandparents who are donating Scholastic books to every child at Woodfield. They are allowing $12 per child. I went through the book order and made a sheet of choices the kids can pick from and then we will be putting through the order. So, in the coming weeks, if your child brings home a book that they get to keep, you will know why. It is exciting to be getting a gift and getting to pick what it is!

We are finishing up with our fifth time through the alphabet and we are getting closer each day to earning that alphabet party.  When every child knows the 26 uppercase letters we can have the party! Everyone is excited for that!

At the bottom is a message from the Waterford Graded Library about a book exchange that is happening in May.

Thanks for Reading!

Miss Gilding
