4K Newsletter for February 20-24

 Hello 4K Families!

We are excited about an upcoming math challenge/competition. It really begins next week, but I am sending the papers home in folders today so that we can get a jump on it and because of the weird weather and the short week. (just in case!)

This is the note I am sending home:

ATTENTION 4K Learners!

For the next three weeks, we are going to be competing in a School-Wide Challenge. The older kids will be doing iReady lessons, but since we don’t have that, I have put together this packet of 4K level activities. I will give you a new packet each week of the challenge. Attached on the top is the page of tickets. Please fill one in each time your child does one of the lessons in the packet. Send them to school on Friday for the Raffle which will be announced the following Tuesday. One class from the red wing with the most lessons completed will win a celebration. Since we have 30 students in 4K, we should be able to win! There will be a possibility of 8 tickets per week for each child. If you have any questions, please send me a message on seesaw.

Attached to the note is a page of lesson tickets and 8 pages of lessons/homework. They are mostly math related, but they do include some other things that are important and fun for 4K. Please let your child complete the lessons. You can help them, but please make sure they are writing and doing the work. They are really good at trying their best. For each paper, please fill in one of the pink tickets and then send the whole packet back on Friday (starting next week) I will then look at the work and put the tickets in the raffle. We will also get credit as a classroom team. The team with the most average tickets per class member will win a party. They kids are very excited to try to win.  Let me know if you have any questions.

It is fun to see them so excited!
Thanks for all your help with this,
Miss Gilding
