4K Newsletter for March 6-10

 Hello 4K Families,

This week is starting out strong. We are on letters Ee, Ff, Gg, Hh, and Ii of our fifth time through the alphabet.  There are now 23/30 students who know all the uppercase letters. Only 7 more and we get to have the alphabet party! It is really important to have a strong foundation built for kindergarten success!

In math, we are doing an amazing job with the challenge. We have so many tickets already. I am so proud of the 4K effort for the challenge. Please remember that if you have any more sheets to complete for pink tickets, hand them in before or on Friday.  Next week, the tickets will be lavender. I am going to pick a winner to get a prize from the office and a bunch of other winners to pick from the classroom prize box. We have so much stuff in the prize box!

We have been reinforcing staying safe, having a calm body when we are indoors, having safe hands and feet, and having kind words for others. We like to say the phrase, "People feel safe when we keep our hands and feet to ourselves." Social emotional growth is just as important during 4K as the academic learning. They are learning to take deep breaths, tuck in hands and feet when frustrated, and stretch to help calm the emotions. Thank you for helping reinforce these things at home too!

Thanks for reading,

Miss Gilding
