September Newsletter Welcome to 4K 2023/2024!

 4K News 2023

Parents, I will be posting a newsletter each week on my blog to help keep

you up to speed with what is going on in our classroom. There are also other helpful features on the class website, like photos, links, and more. In this September newsletter, I would like to tell you some things about the classroom and four-year-old kindergarten at Woodfield.

Drop off and Pick up-

AM Drop off will be in the front of the building. If you want to walk up with your child, please park in the parking lot. The first bell will ring at 8:30 and then the kids will line up outside on their lines on the playground. The teachers will come to meet the students, and we will go in when the second bell rings at 8:35. The final tardy bell will ring at 8:40.

AM Pick up will all be in the front of the school. The bus students will be dismissed to the bus in the circle drive first, then the car rider/walkers will be dismissed to their adults. This will be around 11:35.

PM Drop off will all be in the front of the building. I will come to get the students from the vestibule in the front at about 12:35.

PM Pick up will coincide with the regular full day students and the everyone will be coming out the front door.

Snacks- Please send a water bottle for your child each day. Please send one snack each day for your child to eat at snack time. Please make sure that it is small and simple and easy for them to open and eat independently. If your child has a birthday and you want to send a treat for the class, please send something that is prepackage from the store. This year, shared snacks and treats need to be prepackaged and from the store.

Parent Communications-  We will communicate through lots of great electronic means this year. It will work so smoothly. The take home folder will not be checked daily.  I will send home the monthly reading log, home activities, and video learning series at the beginning of each month, in the folder, but unless there is a note that is coming from the office, I am going to refrain from checking the folders each day. So, we will need other ways to communicate with each other.

1. Email - you can email me gilding@waterford.k12.wi.us or missgildng@gmail.com The first one is the official school email.  The other is my teacher email.

2. 4K Miss Gilding Webpage - www.missgilding.com

3. SeeSaw - For the day to day reporting home, this year we will be using the seesaw app. It can be downloaded from the app store and there is a desktop version. We will use it at school and as a connection to home.  It will be a really nice communication tool. I shared the class links in an email from Skyward Message Center. Please contact me if you did not receive that.

4. Questions- If there is something that you wonder about, please don’t hesitate to ask me. I usually reply to emails very quickly.  You can also always request a phone call or a zoom meeting, or send a message in seesaw if you would rather.

My emails are gilding@waterford.k12.wi.us or missgilding@gmail.com

I look forward to working with all of you this year,

Miss Gilding
